I do not feel the need to share much about who I am now. This blog is about who I was.
For roughly the past 6 years of my life, I have been keeping a journal. It has taken various forms (Composition notebook, Word document, Livejournal, DiaryLand way back when …), but it has never been completely public. I have written only for myself.
However, I guess that is about to change. I don’t really know where this will go or where this blog will take me, but I do know that I am interested in memoirs, memory, journaling, and narrative psychology. Because of that, I’m going to start posting my journal regularly – only it is going to be 4 years behind present time. The names are almost always changed, and I have tried to leave out specific locations.
New? Start at the beginning.
I hope that readers will be able to relate to this or benefit from it in some way. I also hope that growth is visible in my journal. Although it may seem trivial at times, whatever I wrote was genuine and important to me then. I suppose you could consider this the diary of a typical teenaged-girl growing up in a city in the U.S.
What an interesting idea. Tell the story of your life years later. I’ll definitely be coming back.
thank you!
I love this idea! It must be fascinating to look back at your life with an older and wiser eye, and so brave of you to share who you were with all of us. I think I’d be too scared to introduce my 16-year-old self to the public. But really, I think it’s brilliant! And I love the movie cast section. Casting the movie of my life is my favorite game.. Can’t wait to keep reading!
Wow, thank you! I really enjoy your blog too.
